Meet Our
Creative Directors
Aimee and Kathryn met in 2012 when Aimee’s work was based out of the Pomona Community House in the Noosa Hinterland. An immediate recognition of a fellow artist and journaler with a love of ‘playful creativity’ led them to become firm friends. It was this shared love of ‘playful creativity’ and the realisation that play is an essential factor in ‘letting go’, exploration and curiosity that inspired them to run workshops for people wanting more of these elements in their lives.
Kathryn Shewring
Kathryn Shewring is an artist with a background in education and community development. For many years Kathryn was joint coordinator of the Pomona Community House where her role included planning events, programs and activities for the local community. More often than not there was a creative side to these events. Now retired, Kathryn and her husband have a house in a small town in the Noosa Hinterland – on Gubbi Gubbi land - where they have lived, surrounded by greenery, hills and the extraordinary volcanic plugs of Mt Cooroora, Mt Pinbarren and Mt Cooran, for nearly thirty years. Of her art, Kathryn says she loves to work with both textiles and mixed media and says her art often satisfies an inherent need to create and to ‘make something’. She says, “I like to use up bits and pieces from my profusion of found and saved items – layering and building to create a feeling of richness and abundance.” Kathryn loves to journal, both writing and art journaling.

Aimee considers herself lucky to have been able to bring a level of creative expression to many work situations.
Outside of work, Aimee is a passionate and playful artist whose works include mixed media, art journaling and photography. Aimee says, “My art is not static – there is movement and texture. I respond to what is present in my life.”
